Novel flexible electrodes were fabricated by replacing protons of sulfonic acid groups in S-PEDOT with tetrabutylammonium ions. Furthermore, ion gel/S-PEDOT:TBA soft actuators were fabricated by sandwiching both sides of an ion gel consisting of thermoplastic polyurethane and an ionic liquid between two S-PEDOT:TBA electrode films.The role of flexible electrodes in electroactive polymer actuators was investigated in detail.
