Split ring resonator (SRR) interacts with the oscillating magnetic field of light to produce magnetic resonance, which is also induced by an electric field. We have shown that localized optical magnetic fields can be detected by using scattered light polarized perpendicular to the symmetry axis of a one-segment SRR. In this study, we investigate the effect of SRR size parameters on the ability to detect optical magnetic fields using a single one-segmented gold SRR fabricated by electron beam lithography.
