In recent years, magnetic multipoles have gained attention in studying spintronics materials. In particular, the concept of extended magnetic multipoles, composed of multiple magnetic sites, is considered key to understanding new phenomena based on spin-orbit interaction and topology and designing novel materials. To elucidate their properties, it is essential to visualize electronic states and investigate their responses to external fields such as magnetic fields and currents. This presentation introduces a method for detecting unique signals of extended magnetic multipoles and visualizing their spatial distribution using synchrotron-based soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy.
