As transmission capacity increases, light sources with multiple wavelengths and high repetition rates are needed. Optical frequency comb is one of the solutions to this problem, and micro-ring modulators that can be integrated in a small area are suitable for modulating them.
We confirmed the characteristics of silicon micro-ring modulators. We also investigated the characteristics of silicon micro-ring modulators using optical frequency combs generated with silicon nitride.
