This study aims to analyze the causes of degradation in the encapsulant material PVB of solar cell modules that were used outdoors in Yemen for 38 years and to investigate the mechanism behind the performance degradation. It is believed that UV light converted the hydroxyl groups in the PVB to ester bonds, contributing to the performance deterioration.
