shift current
Shift current is a photocurrent observed in materials that break spatial inversion symmetry, driven by changes in the Berry connection before and after optical transitions. Shift current generation from excitons is also possible. The sign of the exciton shift current in CuI is theoretically predicted to be highly sensitive to lattice strain, with the sign reversing under compressive and tensile strains. I will discusses the shift current in CuI single-domain thin films with tensile strain introduced by utilizing the thermal expansion difference with the substrate.
