Amid the growing problem of environmental pollution caused by plastics, the NIMS Polymer Database PoLyInfo aims to fulfill its scientific responsibilities in materials development. In this study, we discuss the construction and implementation of a knowledge base that ensures the sustainability of materials development by linking information on biofillers that reduce the amount of plastic, microorganisms that degrade polymers, proteins, enzymes, and base sequences that actually promote the degradation of polymers into low-molecular-weight and inorganic substances, and the environmental impact and safety information of low-molecular-weight substances that regenerate polymers.
