In recent years, it has been reported that organic photovoltaic devices have achieved dramatically improved efficiency by using non-fullerene acceptors. As a result, research and development of electron acceptor molecules has become increasingly active. Generally, to develop high performance organic semiconductor devices, not only the molecular structure but also the molecular alignment characteristics for rapid charge transport are crucial. Therefore, controlling this alignment is an important issue. We are conducting research on the photoalignment behavior of π-conjugated molecules without photoisomerization moieties. Reentry, we have revealed that oligothiophene derivatives and perylene bisimidazole derivatives, known as organic semiconductors, exhibit clear photo-alignment behavior in liquid crystals. In this study, we explored the photoresponsive behavior of nematic liquid crystals containing non-fullerene acceptors for organic photovoltaic devices
