Two-dimensional semiconductor microlasers with various cavity shapes have been fabricated and tested so far. Unpumped region is often formed along the periphery of the laser cavity during the fabrication process of the electrode. In this work, we investigated the effect of the unpumped region on the resonance modes for a stadium-shaped chaotic microcavity using the finite element method.
