Laser Processing techniques using femtosecond pulse have attracted attentions as a precise and highly efficient material processing method. Though the processing phenomena is strongly non-equilibrium, possible microscopic effects on phase transition processes have not been thoroughly discussed. In our study, we simulated the ultrafast melting of aluminum thin films under femtosecond laser irradiation using the TTM+MD method. We newly found the critical behavior in cluster growth and phase transition to the liquid phase.
