[17p-K204-4]Reactions Involved in Polymer Film Formation by Vapor-Deposition Polymerization

〇Hiroaki Usui1 (1.Tokyo Univ. Agricul. & Technol.)

Keywords:

physical vapor deposition,vapor-deposition polymerization, polymer thin films

An overview of the vapor-deposition polymerization techniques is given from the standpoint of chemical reactions involved in the film formation process. It includes (1) polycondensation or polyaddition by coevaporation of two bifunctional monomers, (2) radical polymerization of acryl monomers, and (3) surface-initiated polymerization by ring-opening or radical reactions on a surface of reactive self-assembled monolayers. The features of thin films prepared by each route are briefly mentioned.
