We are developing tip-oscillation synchronized infrared spectroscopy (TS-IR), which combines infrared (IR) spectroscopy with frequency-modulation atomic force microscopy (FM-AFM). In TS-IR, an infrared laser synchronized with the tip oscillation enables IR measurement with high spatial resolution simultaneously with surface imaging. In this study, lock-in detection of the dissipation signal clarified the laser-induced response and reduced drift. Irradiating an RTF force sensor with infrared laser yielded peaks corresponding to the sensor material, suggesting that infrared spectroscopy is possible using the dissipation signal.
