In this study, we successfully achieved quasi-oriented growth of WxOy nanowires on an unoriented substrate using a WO3/Na2WO4 composite film as a template for WS2 nanoribbon arrays. Atomic force microscopy revealed that the surface was extremely flat and had a flattened morphology. Furthermore, polygonal facets with 120-degree angles were observed at the tips of the nanowires. The isolated nanowires exhibited insulating properties, demonstrating the suitability of WS2 as a growth template that electrically isolates the nanowires.
