Metalenses that shape wavefronts using subwavelength structures are effective flat and ultrathin optical elements for reducing the size and weight of optical systems. However, similar to refractive lenses, metalenses are also subject to aberrations, and under wide field-of-view conditions, coma aberration becomes a major factor limiting their performance. In conventional refractive optics, aberration correction is achieved by combining multiple lenses. In this study, we demonstrate the potential for aberration reduction under wide field-of-view conditions by employing phase synthesis equivalent to a multi-lens system.
