In immunoresponse-based biosensors, the immobilization of antibodies on the sensor surface is a critical step. However, accurately determining the proportion of the sensing surface that is effectively covered by immobilized antibodies remains challenging. To address this issue, we investigated the use of a blocking step following antibody immobilization. In this presentation, we report the results of our preliminary study, in which we evaluated sensor surface coverage by applying various blocking materials at different concentrations using a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) biosensor.
