Liquid crystal devices can change the phase and polarization state of light with just a few volts, sparking interest in optical quantum computing technology utilizing them. Previously, we reported inserting a TN liquid crystal devices into one of optical paths within a Mach-Zehnder interferometer to control photon numbers in ultra-weak light states, demonstrating that their fluctuations follow Poisson and Gaussian distributions. In this time, we report experiments using a simple liquid crystal cell configuration to observe changes in discrete photon numbers and statistical distributions in ultra-weak light states.
