As quantum dots for bio and life science applications, we developed Cd-free and Se-free non-toxic InP/ZnS quantum dots, achieving high performance across an emission range of 470–710 nm. Water dispersibility was improved through thiolate modification under alkaline conditions, resulting in enhanced stability and long-term retention. Furthermore, cell imaging using QD-labeled antibodies demonstrated superior photostability compared to conventional dyes, confirming their potential as environmentally friendly fluorescent probes for biological applications.
