LiTaO3(LT) single crystal is industrially grown by the Czochralski (CZ) technique using high-frequency induction heating. In order to control the diameter of crystal, radial temperature gradient of melt is high. Therefore, crystal defects are generated by temperature distribution in crystal and worsen the crystallinity. In contrast, it’s possible to grow crystal under low temperature gradient by using the vertical bridgman (VB) technique. We succeeded single crystal growth by using the VB technique. But there is a concern that crystal defects propagate from seed to crystal and worsen the crystallinity caused by crucible shape. We changed crucible shape and observed crystal defects.
