We have been investigating a superconducting coated conductor fabricated by forming a conductive Sr0.95La0.05TiO3 (La-STO) buffer layer on a Ni-electroplated Cu/SUS316L laminated tape, followed by the deposition of a YBCO layer. To reduce the electrical resistance in the thickness direction of the buffer layer, the La-STO layer thickness was decreased. At the interface between the La-STO and the Ni layers, no NiO was formed. A 140 nm thick La-STO layer effectively prevented the diffusion of Ni into the YBCO layer.
