Keywords:

polar magneto-optical Kerr effect

Grating-enhanced magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) studies have predominantly focused on one-dimensional (1D) gratings and transverse MOKE, while two-dimensional (2D) grating structures for polar MOKE remain largely unexplored. The strong polarization and azimuthal dependence of 1D gratings, together with the lack of systematic experimental investigations, highlight the need to clarify the coupling between 2D grating resonances and out-of-plane magnetization. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate grating-enhanced polar MOKE in CoPt thin films using a 2D AlN micro-grating, revealing a robust enhancement mechanism insensitive to polarization and azimuthal angle.
