Research is progressing on the application of optical vortices to the terahertz wave band for the realization of multiplex wireless communications. The realization of such applications necessitates the development of techniques to visualize the unique phase structure of optical vortices with high speed and precision, enabling quantitative evaluation of their quality. In our previous report, we succeeded in visualizing the positive and negative electric fields of continuous terahertz waves, but the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the obtained images still had room for improvement. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effect of the angle of a quarter wave plate within the optical system on the SNR.
