Although Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) is promising for sensing trace molecules, balancing signal stability with fabrication cost is difficult. We propose a solution using PS nanoneedles fabricated via reactive ion etching (RIE) of self-assembled polystyrene spheres. When coated with gold (Au), these nanoneedles demonstrated a 6-fold signal enhancement compared to a conventional planar Au film, offering a facile route for high-performance SERS substrates.
