Barium titanate microparticles was synthesized at ambient temperature and pressure by aqueous solutions of barium hydroxide, titanium lactic acid complex, sodium hydroxide and reaction accelerator. Tert-butylamine (tBA), which has a relatively low boiling point and small molecular weight, is suitable as a reaction accelerator. The appropriate amount of tBA to be added was approximately 180 times the amount of titanium. In addition, the amount of barium carbonate generated as a different phase can be reduced to about 10%.
