We propose the use of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) oriented nanofilms as a physical reservoir layer for reservoir computing (RC) and investigate the effects of film orientation and external environment on RC performance. The SWCNT oriented and non-oriented nanofilms were fabricated using the Langmuir–Blodgett method. The waveform generation task revealed that film orientation is necessary to achieve higher performance, indicating that multipoint nanoscale contacts between SWCNTs and PmPV are essential for reservoir computing performance.
