LET dispersive measurement is essential for the advancement of heavy-ion radiotherapy. We have developed diamond detectors owing to their excellent radiation hardness and tissue equivalence. However, when measuring clinical heavy-ion beams at therapeutic intensities, signal pile-up became a significant issue. To address this, we developed a single-crystal CVD diamond detector with a sensitive volume reduced to one-tenth that of our previous one. In this study, we report on the evaluation of this developed detector in clinical carbon-ion fields.
