我々は、ビーム集束が可能で、単体（シングルティップ）でもアレイとしても動作可能な、火山の火口のような構造をしたボルケーノ構造ダブルゲートフィールドエミッタ（Volcano-structured double gate field emitter; 以下VDG-FE）の開発とその改良を行ってきた。本公演では、その構造に至った経緯や、その後の改良、最新のデバイスの動作特性などについて報告する。
