Crystal growth at ultra-high temperatures just below the melting point is important for material synthesis and maintaining the quality of the synthesized material. In this study, we report on the vapor growth of biphenyl crystals on the {001} plane just below the melting point by the advanced optical microscopy. We measured the velocity of the steps which advanced by the spirall growth mechanism. We determined the kinetic coefficient of crystal growth and the step ledge free energy from the supersaturation dependence of the step velocity and step spacing. Details will be reported on the day.
