Electrical resistivity of layered nickelate Sr2.5Bi0.5NiO5 is significantly modulated by controlling the Sr/Bi ordering within the rock-salt layers. Recently, Sr2.5Bi0.5NiO5 thin films were synthesized via solid-phase epitaxy, exhibiting semiconducting behavior, which differs from metallic behavior observed in polycrystalline bulk samples. In this study, we achieved metallic conduction by optimizing the thin-film synthesis conditions and discuss its origin.
