Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs), which combine ferroelectricity and fluidity, are promising as low-voltage-driven fluid devices. However, no research has focused on EHD flow in FNLCs. This study evaluated the flow properties of each liquid crystal phase in FNLC and discovered that significant flow occurs in the ferroelectric nematic (NF) phase. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that the flow velocity increases linearly with electric field strength and exhibits an extremely low threshold electric field, suggesting that the spontaneous polarization unique to the NF phase contributes to low-voltage EHD flow.
