Triacetylcellulose (TAC) is a biomass polymer that also exhibits marine biodegradability. This study aimed to control the microtopography of TAC films, which are also expected to be applied as flexible device substrates. We optimized thermal nanoimprinting using a sapphire mold, achieving the transfer of periodic atomic step patterns onto the TAC film surface and atomic-level superflatness. Furthermore, the thermal and chemical stability of the atomic step pattern and its structural changes were evaluated.
