Single-photon detectors play a central role in quantum communication. Compared with superconducting single-photon detectors, single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) can operate at relatively higher temperatures and do not require a cryostat, making them promising as compact and low-cost single-photon detectors. In this presentation, we report the observation of entangled photon pairs without temperature control using our newly developed SPAD.
