In this presentation, we show defect dynamics in diamond triggered by femto-second laser simulated by using the time-dependent density functional theory. When the laser beam is focused on diamond bulk, the focused region tends to expand which is suppressed by host diamond. We used a fictitious model to mimic this situation in order to obtain simulation data with several laser intensities. From obtained results, we will discuss thermal/non-thermal process for NV center formation.
