Light-matter interaction is known as one of the means to realize nonequilibrium properties. We conducted research aimed at inducing nonequilibrium spin dynamics using a strong terahertz (THz) optical magnetic field. By irradiating a microstructured metallic device called a spiral antenna resonator (SAR) with THz radiation, we observed the generation of a THz optical magnetic field of up to 0.96 T. Furthermore, we successfully induced ultrafast spin switching in the antiferromagnet Sm0.7Er0.3FeO3 through the SAR magnetic field.
