To enhance the efficiency of femtosecond laser processing, we focused on the frequency changes of ultrasound generated during the process. To capture frequency spectrum changes undetectable by conventional microphone measurements, we developed a femtosecond laser processing system equipped with a polarization interferometer. Surface displacement was obtained from the phase calculated using the generalized phase shift method. In this experiment, we measured the frequency change of ultrasound generated by the femtosecond laser as a function of the number of femtosecond laser pulses.
