Achieving broadband oscillation at multiple frequencies in the terahertz band enables simultaneous acquisition of spectral information, making it useful for sensing applications. Resonant tunnel diodes (RTDs) are compact terahertz light sources operable at room temperature, and oscillation at multiple frequencies is possible by providing feedback. We have generated a broad-band multi-peak spectrum spanning approximately 100 GHz in a system without spatial optics by integrating a dielectric waveguide with an RTD oscillator.
