The Japan Society of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences (JSPESS) carries out various activities with the goal of "promoting the progress and spread of physical education, sports, and health sciences, and through various related activities, contribute to individual happiness, and the realization of a fair and just society of mutual coexistence", as provided in the Articles of Incorporation. Among these activities, "hosting academic conferences" is listed first in the Articles of Incorporation and is the most important. Thus, the 74th Conference of the Society shall be held at Fukuoka University's Nanakuma Campus in August 2024, with the theme "Physical Education, Sport and Health Sciences: Fostering Regional Creation and Harmonious Coexistence".
As we discuss and implement the regional transition of the sports club activities, our goal is to host an academic conference that doesn't just look to the region as a place for the implementation, research, and verification of Physical Education, Sport, and Health Sciences, but also discusses how Physical Education, Sport, and Health Sciences can be used to promote regional creation and harmonious coexistence and to create a win-win relationship between Physical Education, Sport, and Health Sciences and the region.
The conference will also be a space for participants to present and discuss the results of their research. We are preparing for academic discussions and exchanges of opinions among the large number of participants who will gather at Fukuoka University both from Japan and overseas. We are looking forward to your participation in the 74th Conference to help make it even more successful.

The 74th Conference of the Japan Society of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences of 2024 will be held at Fukuoka University's Nanakuma Campus. The theme of the 74th Conference will be "Physical Education, Sport and Health Sciences: Fostering Regional Creation and Harmonious Coexistence". Predicting the future is a very difficult matter of high uncertainty, so our priority should be to create a society that contributes to regional revitalization and new value creation while continuing a harmonious coexistence. We hope that this conference can be an opportunity for researchers from the fields of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences to gather and deepen the discussions on "fostering regional creation and harmonious coexistence" from a comprehensive and interdisciplinary fusion of these fields.
As the various academic disciplines under Physical Education, Sport, and Health Sciences evolve towards specializations and divisions, the importance of solving a single issue in a multifaceted and multilateral manner has also been noted. These past three years, in addition to conventional discussions in specialized fields through cross-disciplinary fields, we have held general presentations and symposiums on three issues. The Fukuoka Convention will focus on two issues.
Fukuoka University will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2024. Located about 30 minutes away from Fukuoka Airport and 20 minutes from Hakata Station, reaching Fukuoka University is convenient. Executive committee preparations are underway so that the convention will be a meaningful event for all attendees. We are looking forward to your participation.
