県立宮崎南高等学校、群馬大学教育学部卒、広島大学大学院修了（教育学修士：1994年）、福岡大学体育学部助手、財団法人福岡市体育協会嘱託職員を経て現職（2001年～）、日本体育社会学会理事、ロジェ・カイヨワの遊びの文化論（ミミクリ）を尊び、衣笠祥雄（広島カープ）の打撃模倣を特技とする。
