[2B10]Design, metrological performance and user experience of the ISO ionization vacuum gauge

A consortium of several European national metrology institutes, researchers from academia, the European Council for Nuclear Research CERN and vacuum gauge manufacturers has successfully developed a new ionization vacuum gauge. The work was supported by the EURAMET EMPIR research programme under project 16NRM05 – “Ion gauge”.
The new design was proposed for standardisation at ISO level as a reference vacuum gauge in the follow-up project 20SIP01 “ISO Gauge”. In November 2023 a Technical Specification ISO TS 6737 – “Characteristics of a stable ionization vacuum gauge” was published. In an article by Karl Jousten et al. ... [1], it was proposed that this new ionization vacuum gauge design be called the “ISO gauge” for short.
