[English Session]
The modality in medicine is getting more and more diverse. From the view of organic chemistry, the basic and cutting-edge research activity would be further of importance to adapt with robustness to the growing diversity and intelligence in the modality. Especially, it would be the case for the pharmaceutical sciences with historically advantages, such as the synthetic organic chemistry of biologically active molecules and the medicinal chemistry based on useful natural compounds. To appeal the fundamental power of basic science for drug discovery in the new era, we planned this symposium by the collaboration of Divisions of Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. In this symposium, we focused on the state-of-the-art sciences in the field of organic chemical reaction, organic synthetic chemistry, and medicinal chemistry, and invited three scientific front-runners, one from abroad and two as domestic. This international symposium will be held as a virtual joint symposium with a special international lecture, so that we intended to have nice opportunity to listen those lectures at once. It is convincing that this opportunity contributes to the progress of pharmaceutical sciences in this field.
