As many universities devise international strategies, such as promoting study abroad and research, and establishing globally oriented departments, the next critical question being asked is “How can we organize an effective operational system and make the strategy work in practice?” In this context, the concept of “designing for execution capability” has been gaining attention in recent years. No matter how the initiatives may be, they cannot be implemented without any supportive operational structure. The “mechanism of international operations” that connects strategy and practice that will determine the success or failure of internationalization.
