At SIIEJ2024, I presented a report on the use of YouTube in intercultural education, particularly emphasizing its pedagogical and social significance. Since then, video-based learning practices have continued to evolve and are increasingly considered practical methodologies adaptable to diverse educational contexts.
Building upon these experiences, I am currently engaged in the development of a structured educational model that examines the dynamic interplay between learner perspectives and instructional design within higher education.
This session addresses two interrelated contemporary themes: technology, including digital media and AI, and diversity in international learning environments. It explores how experiential and collaborative learning through video creation can contribute meaningfully to the field of international education.
During the session, participants will be organized into groups of three and will produce short videos using smartphones, thereby engaging directly with the learning process from the student’s perspective. This activity is intended to promote critical reflection on how video expression facilitates mutual understanding and intercultural collaboration, and to examine its pedagogical applications in English language teaching and intercultural education.
No specialized knowledge or technical skills are required. The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in student-centered learning and intercultural pedagogy.
As the video creation activity will be conducted in English, international participants are particularly encouraged to join. Basic proficiency in smartphone use is sufficient for full participation.
