Vietnam has prioritized hydrogen production as a key strategy for its green decarbonization, targeting an annual output of 20 million tons of hydrogen by 2050, utilizing both blue and green hydrogen technologies. Nevertheless, there exists a knowledge gap regarding the optimal production mix for hydrogen and its associated environmental impacts. This study primarily seeks to determine the optimal production process design across selected technologies and feedstocks using a linear optimization model, in conjunction with the quantification of the environmental impacts of each optimal production design through the application of life cycle impact assessment.
