[2-D1-03]The application of modular life cycle assessment in substocks-driven model: a case study of electric vehicle penetration in China

Promoting technological upgrades is widely regarded as an effective strategy for reducing carbon emissions. Traditional stock-driven models, which limit the penetration rate of upgraded products by inflow, often overlook consumer behaviors. This oversight can hinder understanding of the key factors influencing carbon emissions during the penetration of upgraded products. To better simulate the product replacement process and identify key carbon-emission determinants, this study introduces a substocks-driven model and incorporates it with a modular life cycle assessment. China's vehicle market serves as a case study, as it is currently experiencing a period of rapid electric vehicle adoption.
