With the export of used vehicles, lithium batteries flow from the country of origin to mostly developing countries. The environmental impacts caused by the export are unclear considering the less developed battery recycling system in the destination countries. This study aims to fill in the research gap by modeling the flow of end-of-life EV batteries, including cross-border transportation and recycling at the destination. The environmental impact of the flow is modeled with a life cycle assessment (LCA) to clarify the difference in the performance between the end-of-life battery treatments in the original country and the destination countries.
