AGU's 2020 strategic plan guides organizational direction and includes a definition, mission, vision, core values, and three strategic goals. One of these goals is to promote and exemplify an inclusive scientific culture—essential, in AGU’s view, for addressing the scientific and societal challenges facing our planet and humanity. AGU works continuously to weave diversity, inclusion, equity, ethics, and cultural awareness into the fabric of all its programs and activities, and remains strongly committed to these values. This presentation will examine how AGU has advanced inclusive science excellence by integrating core values and principles across all programs, with concrete examples of implementation and outcomes. The presentation will also address the impacts of recent external disruptions that challenge these principles and explore the critical role of professional societies in upholding inclusive science values amid disruption. While grounded in AGU's experience, these principles have global applicability. The session will conclude with an inclusive science excellence call to action, equipping both individuals and organizations with strategies to navigate ongoing challenges and seize emerging opportunities in this evolving landscape.
