Aurantiochytrium sp. has received growing interest because of its high productivity of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) for health benefits and palmitic acid (C16:0) for biodiesel production. Aurantiochytrium sp. strain 8W, 9LR, 10W, and 10LW were cultured in the 790 By+ medium under different temperatures at 10-35 oC, pH3-9, the salinity at 5-80 PSU. The strain 9LR was tested with dissolved oxygen (DO) at 1, 5, 8 mg/L. The temperature at 25 oC was optimal for the four strains' growth (p < 0.0487), DHA, EPA contents while the highest C16:0 accounted at 35 oC with p (strain 8W) < 0.0063. The salinity at 20-35 PSU showed the highest growth of four strains (p < 0.0480), the DHA, EPA contents were highest at 35 PSU. Strain 8W and 10LW produced the highest C16:0 (p < 0.0094) at 50–60 PSU environments. At pH5-8, four strains got the highest growth and DHA, EPA. DO at 5 mg/L was an optimal environment for biomass and DHA production of strain 9LR (p < 0.0004, p < 0.045, respectively) while DO at 8 mg/L showed the highest EPA value. The four strains grew at different outside conditions broadening the good potential DHA, EPA, and palmitic acid for industrial application.
