Introduction: Deploying building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) shifts buildings from energy consumer to energy provider and further reduces carbon emissions. In our previous research, we proposed colored PV modules with structural colored cover glass sheets that have dielectric multilayers (MLs) with high and low refractive (n) index materials (TiO2 and SiO2, respectively) on textured glass surface. The use of textured glass significantly reduces the angle-dependence of color and glare-effect, offering great potential for BIPV applications [1]. On the other hand, reliability of colored PV modules must be confirmed since a longer operation lifetime is always expected. Currently, a 25-years lifetime has been guaranteed for mature PV modules [2]. Therefore, the stability of colored PV, considering both electrical and aesthetic performance, becomes a key factor in achieving the long-term reliability of BIPV. In this investigation, we applied sequential stress testes including UV irradiation (UV), damp heat (DH), and thermal cycling (TC) as pre IEC61215 standards to the textured colored glass. We found the reflectance and color of colored glass underwent no significant changes after the stress tests. These results indicate that our proposed structural colored glass is stable and suited to be applied in BIPV modules.
