Here, we are promoting the time-resolved X-ray diffraction experiments for a VO2(80nm)/TiO2(001) thin film [1,2] to extract the electron-lattice correlations of the phase transition, which is based on the different dynamic of the (0 0 2) Bragg peak (lattice structure) and the (0 -1/2 3/2) superlattice peak (V dimerization) (around TC∼300K). Specifically, after a series of experiments we have successfully observed transient photoinduced phase transition signals from M1 to R phase which is clearly separated from the thermal heating components
