We have studied the mechanism of ferromagnetism enhancement in a La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LSMO) membrane released from a SrTiO3 (STO) substrate by using a water-dissolvable Sr4Al2O7 buffer layer. The LSMO membrane exceeds the as-grown LSMO film in the magnetic moment and Curie temperature. By resonant photoemission spectroscopy (RPES) on the as-grown film and membrane of LSMO, we elucidate that the strain release from the STO substrate enhances the itineracy of the Mn 3d electrons via the p-d hybridization. The enhancement of the itineracy strengthens the double-exchange interaction, improving the ferromagnetism of LSMO.
