[SY17-06]Tendon Transfer in Irreparable Rotator Cuff Tears

I am a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery with over 25 years of dedicated experience in shoulder and elbow pathology. I obtained my medical degree from the Catholic University of Rome in 1993 and completed my residency in Orthopaedics at Ancona University in 1999. During my residency, I undertook a Shoulder Fellowship at Epsom General Hospital (UK) under the mentorship of Dr. D.H. Mok in 1995. In 2000, I co-founded the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Unit at Villa Serena Private Clinic in Forlì, Italy, alongside Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini. From 2005 to April 2018, I served as Senior Assistant at the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Unit of Cervesi Hospital in Cattolica. On April 1, 2018, I was appointed Acting Chief of the Unit, and since May 1, 2021, I have held the position of Chief of the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Unit. I served as President of the 1st Master's Program in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, organized by the Italian Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SICSeG) in collaboration with Unicamillus University in Rome (2022–2023). My clinical and surgical work has consistently focused on disorders of the shoulder and elbow. I have authored numerous international publications in this field. I am a member of the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SIOT) and was President of the Italian Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SICSeG) during the years 2021–2022. I am a Corresponding Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and a Full Member of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC–ESSSE), where I served on the Educational Committee (2017–2019) and as Chair of the Committee (2019–2023).
